Just as Jesus had compassion on the poor and the sick, we
teach and believe that all disciples should give of themselves to serve the
poor where they live. In 1987, a fresh study of the Scriptures brought us
to the conviction that this was an area of God's will that we had largely
neglected.
Since then our church has worked hard to repent and correct
this problem. In order to serve larger needs around the world, a coordinated outreach, called
HOPE worldwide, was
begun. Several projects have gained national and international acclaim.
But whether the work is a large, high-profile project or a simple helping
of one person by another, our goal is to imitate Jesus in his concern for
the poor and needy and to make a difference in every way that we can!
