History

The church in Cincinnati began in the spring of 1983, with twenty members calling themselves the Seven Hills Church of Christ. In the fall of that year, the church hired Paul and Melanie Martel to lead them. The church was renamed the Gateway Church of Christ. Within eight months, the church grew to the point where additional help was needed, and Richard and Jeanie Runge were brought in. The church was then firmly established and operating in full swing.

In January, 1988, Bob and Barb Harpole moved to Cincinnati from the Chicago Church of Christ to lead the Gateway church. The church was renamed the Cincinnati Church of Christ.

Between 1988 and 2003 the church was affiliated with the International Churches of Christ, and was let by Bob Harpole, Curt Simmons, Tomm Wilson, Bill Throne, Jack Armstrong, and Tom Caswell.
