Two years have passed since this article was first published, but its the kind of story that never gets old, and we've added another chapter!

Then he said to them, "Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For he who is least among you all--he is the greatest." (Luke 9:48 NIV)

As our special Adoption Service planned for July 22nd approaches, it is my great pleasure to highlight and honor some of our local heroes: Cincinnati disciples who have made one of the most rewarding sacrifices in God's Kingdom; the adoption of a child.

The first article in this series highlights Philip and Beth Bruns and their family, who recently adopted their daughter, Rose Li Bruns. The Bruns utilized HOPE for Children's China Program. Most of the children placed for adoption in China are girls who have been orphaned or abandoned, and in this article, Phil shares his experiences.

International adoptions are extremely rewarding in that you are able to give a home to a child from an underdeveloped or developing country who has become orphaned or abandoned for reasons such as war, poverty, ill health, death of  the parents, or from unwed mothers who have no families or welfare support. To adopt one of these children is to change his or her life forever.
