GROWING IN THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT

2 Peter 1:3-11God has given us everything we need to live a Godly life.
  • We need to make every effort to learn, from the Bible, how to grow more like God.
  • We need to grow- These qualities need to be increasing in our lives.
  • Are we blind to this need to grow because we no longer appreciate our salvation?

Galatians 5:13-26

  • Love
  • Peace
  • Joy
  • Patience
  • Kindness
  • Goodness
  • Faithfulness
  • Gentleness
  • Self-Control
Warm affection
Absence of mental anxiety
Deep feeling of happiness
Calm Endurance
Gentle or benevolent nature
Positive or comparative excellence
Loyal, constant
Kindliness, mildness
Holding yourself in check
The Spirit brings peace regardless of your situation if you let it. Don’t give in to your sinful nature-Don’t let your moods stop you from serving others. Keep in step with the Spirit – PRAY

Galatians 6:4-9 Test your own actions-
  • Check how you are doing spiritually
  • Sow to please the Spirit- What would Jesus DO? What are you sowing?
  • Are you taking care of God’s work or are you focused on yourself?
  • Don’t get discouraged, instead confess your sins and change your actions.
Colossians 3: 5-14 Trust and Obey God-
  • Then you will be in step with the spirit.
  • Rid yourself of Sin-
  • It’s your responsibility to change. You can do it.
Questions:

Do you take care of yourself spiritually like you do physically?
  • Daily showers/Daily Confession
  • Brush teeth 2x’s a day/pray to God less than that? More than that?
  • Bathroom time/Time with God – ask yourself if you spend more time on the pot than you do with God???
What do you lack in your spiritual wardrobe?

Are you clothed in the spiritual qualities above?

Are you willing to train yourself? It takes self discipline and a choice to change.

Do you have spiritual integrity?

Be honest about your relationship with God so that you can grow.

What do you need to grow in?

Set Goals for yourself, ask someone to hold you accountable and grow closer to God.

My goal is to get back to memorizing scriptures. Thank you for allowing me to share.
