The next time you leave the church building, you may notice we have a new lily garden in the front of the building. This garden has been donated as a memorial to our sister (and my mother) Sally Klangos who passed away a year ago this month. Sally lived most of her life in Lynn, Massachusetts and was baptised into the Boston Church of Christ at the age of 66. She moved to Cincinnati in 1997 and was a member of the Cincinnati Church of Christ until her death last year.
The garden includes several day lilies and a memorial garden rock and was generously donated by Laura Kovacs, a close friend of the Oliva family.
Laura chose the stone specifically because on numerous occasions Sally would tell her how Jesus was her rock all her life.
Day lilies are flowers which need to be split and shared or they will wither and die. So it was with Sally who shared all she had with others until her journey home.
As you walk by the garden, remember those things about Sally; her love for Jesus as her rock and her heart to share with others.
Thanks Laura!
