EXTREME MAKEOVER: GOD’S EDITION The 2006 Women's Conference By Sydney Caswell Posted April 4, 2006 We are so excited about the 2006 Women’s Conference soon to be here on Saturday, May 6th. The theme is EXTREME MAKEOVER: GOD’S EDITION. We are all familiar with the makeovers we see on television: home makeovers, face makeovers, and full body makeovers, to name a few. But we also know that being happy and having true joy starts on the inside, in our hearts. “The Lord does not look as the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7 NIV “I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh.” Ezekiel 11:19 NIV The program will include hearing from key note speaker Roberta Balsom, choosing from five breakout classes, entertainment, and refreshments. Registration cost is $10. Join us in seeing how we can all be transformed from the inside out by God’s love. We all could use an extreme makeover. More about our key note speaker: Roberta was born and raised in Ohio. She studied the Bible when she was 25 while working as a trauma nurse. She had become bewildered with the deaths, and had experienced three broken engagements. She was at a loss for where to find meaning when she experienced an extreme makeover in her life by God. Roberta then married Jeff at 27. They have three children: Paul, 22, a student at Middle Tennessee State majoring in Film, soon to be married; Susan, 19, a student at University of Texas, a tall, fun redhead; and Alex, adopted from Siberia at 6 1/2 years of age, now 12 years old. Alex was Roberta’s 46th year birthday gift. Roberta has worked in the ministry with Jeff since 1995 and is a recent survivor of cancer in 2004. Roberta is loving God, loving life, and learning everyday.
